The latest cell phone tracker app to gain in popularity is called InstaMapper. Using the service is as simple as creating a free online account using your email address and a self-created username and password. After creating an account, you can download an app to your GPS enabled cell phone or smart phone and it will send out location data complete with time, speed, direction, and altitude plotting the results on a map. The map will automatically update to show current data and can be set up to share with friends and family online through a website or social networking profile. Data updates at 5 second intervals to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
The app allows you to store up to 30 days worth of historical location information for easy access. The service is currently available for iPhone, Android based phones and Blackberry. Due to the large amount of data transfer required to run this type of application, we recommend using it only if you currently subscribe to an unlimited data plan with your cell phone service provider. This is probably one of the better free phone tracking systems we've evaluated and give it 3 1/2 stars out of 5.
